Independent Film Company, Faerie Films,
Launches
in Aliso Viejo, California
Newport Beach, CA – April 21, 2005 –
When Jennifer Mattox sets
her mind on something, audiences had better watch
out…as well as watch. Ms. Mattox, founder
of the newly created Faerie Films, has a simple
focus - to make a difference in the world we live.
Faerie Films announced its formation during the
opening of the 6th Annual Newport Beach Film Festival.
“Through our films, we aim to trigger audiences
to take action to help change the way things are,”
commented Mattox while attending the Film Festival.
“Consider the possible social impact, as
well as box office sales, if you could combine
Michael Moore (Fahrenheit 9/11), Morgan Spurlock
(Super Size Me), and the producers of What The
Bleep Do We Know!? into a single filmmaker. This
time next year, we hope to preview our first film,
right here at the Newport Beach Film Festival,”
Mattox concluded.
In launching the independent film company, Mattox
now has the vehicle to communicate her impassioned
messages. The company’s first project, Vending
Machine, a full-length documentary, challenges
the current children’s health crisis within
the public school system and exposes the corporate
greed and political corruption and what’s
behind society’s careless acceptance of
the abuse. The film presents a case for action
in addressing health costs and other social impacts
related to the current state of health in our
schools. The film is in pre-production with shooting
scheduled to begin this summer.
