Marlene B. Schwartz, Ph.D

Weight Disorders
 

Marlene B. Schwartz is currently Co-Director of the Yale Center for Eating and Weight Disorders. This university based training and research clinic provides individual, group, and family therapy for anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and obesity.


As a faculty member of the Department of Psychology at Yale University, she teaches and provides clinical supervision for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. Her current research and recent publications address the societal role in childhood obesity, the stigma of obesity, and the psychological aspects of weight cycling and binge eating. She is also an author of a workbook for parents of children with eating disorders (Helping Your Child Overcome an Eating Disorder: Things You Can Do at Home. New Harbinger Press; 2003). Dr. Schwartz received her Ph.D. in Psychology from Yale University.
